The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized the Third Breakfast Meeting under the CEO FORUM on A GST PRIMER FOR CEOs  on 2nd December 2016 at at the Taj Gateway, Marine Drive, Ernakulam. CA P.M. Veeramani, renowned Chartered Accountant, the speaker at the session, spoke on the features of the Proposed GST, present indirect tax structure compared to the proposed indirect tax structure and the benefits to both the trade and the Government. He pointed out some of the Challenges in the GST system based on the current system and also outlined the industry expectations with regard to the GST. He illustrated the tax benefits under the GST, compared to the present scenario and cautioned CEOs on the need for sufficient planning to meet the compliance requirements and enable a smooth transition to the GST regime. Mr. Shaji Varghese, Chairman, CEO FORUM & President of the Chamber welcomed the gathering and Mr. V. Venugopal, Vice President, proposed the Vote of thanks. The meeting ended with the Networking Breakfast at 10 a.m.
