18th December 2015 The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry was pleased to host the first Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial Lecture on Friday, the 18th of December 2015, at the Grand Ball Room, Abad Plaza, Ernakulam. This was an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to one of the greatest minds that lived in our times. Mr. Srijan Pal Singh author, social entrepreneur and former advisor to late Dr. Kalam who has also co-authored books with the late President delivered the first lecture in this series. The President of The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. C.S. Kartha welcomed everyone and introduced the speaker. Mr. Srijan Pal Singh on the strength of his close associate with Dr. Kalam took the audience on a journey wherein he elaborated on the simplicity and humility of Dr. Kalam. He explained how Dr. Kalam became what he was and encouraged those present to emulate Dr. Kalam through the different incidents he narrated. Mr. V. Venugopal, Committee Member, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was attended by over 150 participants from across industry sectors.
