The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in association with the Employers ™ Federation of Southern India (EFSI) and the West Coast Employers ™ Federation (WCEF), conducted a Workshop on Collaborative, Competitive Wage Negotiations  on the 20th of February 2016. Mr. Shaji Varghese, Vice President “ EFSI/CCCI, welcomed the gathering. Mr. V. Gopalakrishnan, Deputy General Manager, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Cochin was the Chief Guest on the occasion and rendered the Inaugural Address. Mr. K. Manickam, Secretary General “ EFSI, introduced the Speakers and the Session subjects. The half day workshop was intended to highlight the need for promoting collaborative, competitive wage negotiations. The first session on Cooperative and Competitive Approach “ Accomplishments and Challenges was handled by Mr. V. Venugopal, VP “ Legal, HML Ltd., Cochin. The second session on Collaborative Strategy/Approach was addressed by Mr. P. Rajeev ex Member of Parliament. He explained the different strategies and approaches the Managements and the Unions should take to arrive at wage settlements within a Company. The final session was addressed by the Senior VP “ HR of Carborundum Universal Ltd., Chennai, Mr. M Muthiah. Having substantial amount of knowledge in this field, he was able to explain the Recent Wage revision trends in the country.
