The Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry arranged a Breakfast Session for the members of the CEO Forum on Challenges Facing India - Foreign Policy/ International Affairs  on Friday, 18th September 2015 from 8:00 a.m. “ 10.00 a.m. at the Gateway Hotel, Marine Drive, Cochin. Mr. Shaji Varghese, Vice President “ CCCI & Chairman, CEO Forum welcomed and introduced the speaker. Mr. V. Venugopal, Executive Committee Member delivered the Vote of Thanks. Mr.T.P. Sreenivasan, IFS Retd., Vice Chairman and Executive Head of the Kerala State Higher Education Council was the subject Speaker. Mr. Sreenivasan, in his address outlined the shift that has taken place in the Foreign policy outlook the new government as opposed to the Foreign Policy that India has been following till date. He said that the Prime Minister's vision is to engage our immediate neighbours and the west in such a manner as to promote FDI and the "Make in India" initiative. He said the government was keen on promoting friendly relations, trade and commerce with the SAARC countries, ASEAN, BRICS and the west. The Prime Minister's visits to various countries over the past year have been aimed at promoting good relations with the various countries. Mr. Sreenivasan was highly appreciative of the diplomatic efforts being made to garner goodwill for India across the globe. The session which was attended by 20 Chief Executives from in and around Cochin ended by 10 am followed by the Networking Breakfast.
